21 Petit Verdot

100% Petit Verdot. Our 2021 Petit Verdot is our perfect winter wine, showing rich blueberry, black cherry, and bramble flavors, with vanilla, toasted wood, and dark cocoa notes shining through. The palate is full-flavored and structured, with a lovely balance of bright dark fruit and integrated oak. Although traditionally used as a blending component, Petit Verdot shines as a single varietal in Virginia with its dark fruit, spice, and rich tannins.

The fruit was hand-harvested in October 2021 in Loudoun County. Barrel-aged 16 months in 27% new French oak. Bottled April 2023.
