2019 Unité Reserve
Winner of the 2022 Virginia Governor's Cup
65% Petit Verdot, 29% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot. Unité Reserve represents the best lots from our Estate vineyard, anchored each year by Petit Verdot, which truly shines in the spectacular 2019 vintage. On the nose, savory notes of black olive, soy sauce, and toasted oak are followed by vanilla, black plum, and herbes de Provence. Ripe blackberry accompanies the black plum and herbes de Provence on the palate and is supported by well-structured tannins.
Each vintage of Unité Reserve is produced with passion and care to tell the story of Virginia wine, particularly here in beautiful Loudoun County. All lots are individually hand-harvested and fermented, then pressed and put to barrel for aging. Careful barrel selection and blending allows us to best express the vineyard and vintage. Expected to age well for the next decade or more, this wine will pair with richer dishes that complement the herbal and savory notes, such as an herb-crusted leg of lamb or beef wellington.
2019 Le Mariage
Placed in the 2022 Governor's Case, among the top 12 wines
43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 14% Malbec, 14% Petit Verdot, 7% Cabernet Franc. Le Mariage is complex and inviting, leading with aromas of black cherry, blueberry, and plum, closely followed by notes of cocoa powder, vanilla, and a hint of tarragon. On the palate, the same fruit profile is accompanied by cocoa and nutmeg and wrapped in silky, supple tannins. Barrel-aged 17 months in 30% new French oak. This wine will pair beautifully with savory, leaner meats such as duck, venison, or quail dressed in a blueberry sauce.
2019 Malbec
A limited edition, Harvest Club favorite
79% Malbec, 14% Petit Verdot, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon. A limited edition style from a spectacular vintage. Our 19 Malbec is a lovely medium-bodied, full-flavored wine with warm, toasted oak and vanilla on the nose over juicy mixed berry flavors. On the palate black raspberry and cherry take the lead with a lift of black pepper and fine-grained tannin on the finish. A supremely smooth, all-occasion wine that we reach for all winter long. Pair with foods that complement its depth and earthiness, such as roasted vegetables, aged cheeses, and mushroom dishes.
